Maintaining a connection to agriculture, and livestock producers in particular, has always been a passion for Lacy Short. A 2006 graduate of the University of Missouri’s agricultural journalism program, she is the owner and designer at Monti West Design.
Lacy grew up on a commercial cow/calf operation in northwest Missouri and was an active member of the American Shorthorn Association. She served as a director of the American Junior Shorthorn Association, and was a founding member of the Missouri Junior Cattlemen’s Association board of directors. After graduating from college, she joined the production staff of Iowa Farmer Today and Midwest Marketer, then went on to work as a graphic designer with Encore Visions, a Texas-based graphic design and marketing firm.
She currently resides in northeast Iowa with her husband, Kelly, and children, Rylee and Asher. Lacy and Kelly are third-generation owner/operators of the family’s grain farm, and also own Monti West Black Cattle, a Simmental- and Maine-Anjou-influenced cow/calf operation.
